Production Features

Materials

Our main raw material is brass, which is a metal alloy based on copper and zinc, with a prevalence of copper, to which are added, sometimes, various quantities of other elements such as manganese, iron, aluminum, tin, which improve its mechanical properties and resistance to agents’ weather. It is used for its hardness and corrosion resistance.

Production

Multi-spindle lathes department

Eredi Bossini manufactures brass turned parts designed for use in various sectors, featuring new and refurbished machines, all with automatic bar feeding. The lathes of this department are used for large productions.

Single-spindle lathes department

This special department makes use of high-tech instrumentation which permits constant control of the entire production-cycle. Small productions and prototyping are carried out in this department.

MACHINERY

Balls

Small balls

In this department all milling, diamond cutting, and drilling operations are carried out on the balls coming from the turnery. For the above-mentioned operations, the company uses drilling and diamonding machines as well as transfer machines. In this department balls for valves of dimensions between 10 mm and 30 mm are processed. The product here obtained is ready to be delivered to the customer or can be sent to the chrome plating on customer request. The machines of the this department are constantly monitored in order to guarantee that the manufacturing process is carried out in compliance with the requested manufacturing standard.

Big balls

The balls of big diameters are not obtained by brass bars, but by forging. The company has established a department with two completely automated working isles producing end-products from the raw products obtained through forging. These working isles carry out drilling, milling and diamonding operations onto the balls for valves with diameters from 31 to 82 mm.

The creation of the two working isles has enormously reduced the time of manufacturing and has improved the quality of the final products. In order to optimize manufacturing costs for the end-product price, balls for bigger valves are lightened in their non-essential parts, according to their specific use. Le lavorazioni di alleggerimento che sono dunque eseguite per ridurre l’impiego di materiale, vengono concordate con il cliente, per rispondere alle diverse esigenze d’impiego.
